The Public Utilities Board (PUB) has issued a warning to residents to steer clear of flood-prone zones in Serangoon and Bartley amid forecast thundery conditions. The precautionary alert follows meteorological predictions of widespread showers expected over many parts of Singapore during the morning period.
The National Environment Agency had flagged the likelihood of thundery showers from around 8am, heightening the risk of sudden water accumulation in susceptible areas. Flash flooding can occur rapidly in low-lying and poorly drained locations when intense rainfall overwhelms drainage systems.
Members of the public are urged to exercise caution and monitor weather updates closely. Those in the affected areas should avoid venturing into flood-prone zones and stay informed of any further advisories from PUB and other relevant authorities.
