Congress MLAs claimed they were barred from entering the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday, leading to a show of protest by the opposition party members. The legislators alleged obstruction as they attempted to access the House for proceedings.
The confrontation drew a sharp response from the ruling Aam Aadmi Party. AAP MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal accused the Congress lawmakers of engaging in aggressive behaviour, alleging they pushed him while he was entering the Assembly premises. "An atmosphere of gundagardi (hooliganism) is prevailing outside the House," Dhaliwal stated, demanding action against the opposition members.
The incident underscores escalating tensions between the Congress and AAP in the Punjab legislative chamber. Such confrontations have become increasingly common as the two parties clash over various legislative matters and government policies.
