A Punjabi influencer has died nearly two months after being assaulted by acquaintances, her family confirmed. The victim had been hospitalized since the June incident in what authorities are investigating as a serious violent crime.
According to her mother's account, the influencer regained consciousness on August 5, marking a potential turning point in her recovery. Upon regaining awareness, the family immediately notified Kharar police in Mohali district to record her statement, a crucial step in documenting evidence for the ongoing investigation.
However, the family has alleged that despite their notification to police, officers did not arrive to record her account. This lapse in police response has raised concerns about the handling of the case and potential gaps in the investigation process.
The assault case had previously drawn attention on social media platforms, where the victim maintained a significant following. The circumstances surrounding the attack and the identities of those involved remain subjects of investigation by Mohali police.
