Putrajaya gears up for National Day celebrations with massive security and transport push
Authorities in Putrajaya are bracing for an influx of 80,000 visitors for National Day festivities, deploying nearly 4,000 police officers and laying on over 100 shuttle buses to manage the crowd despite extensive road closures.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 — The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has mobilised 3,811 officers and personnel to ensure smooth operations during National Day celebrations in Putrajaya, as organisers prepare for a significant turnout of visitors to the administrative capital.
With an estimated 80,000 attendees expected, authorities have implemented comprehensive security measures and traffic management strategies across the venue. The deployment represents one of the larger police operations for a public event, underscoring the scale of preparations undertaken by law enforcement agencies.
To mitigate congestion from widespread road closures in the area, organisers have arranged 103 shuttle buses to transport visitors to the celebration site. The shuttle service is designed to ease access for the public while allowing police to maintain controlled entry and exit points throughout the event.
The combination of enhanced police presence, shuttle transport facilities, and traffic diversions reflects a coordinated approach by multiple agencies to accommodate the anticipated crowd while maintaining public safety and order during the festivities.
