Quality Education Critical to Nation-Building, PM Says

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has underscored the importance of quality education in cultivating good citizens as a foundation for national development. Speaking at a ceremony to inaugurate a newly constructed building at Ihala Puliyankulama Vidya Chakrawarthi Maha Vidyalaya in Puttalam, the Prime Minister outlined the connection between educational standards and civic responsibility.

Dr. Amarasuriya stressed that building a developed nation requires more than economic growth or infrastructure development. The character and values of citizens form the backbone of societal progress, she noted, with education serving as the primary vehicle for instilling these qualities in young people.

The Prime Minister's remarks reflect ongoing government focus on the education sector as a priority area for national development. The inauguration of the school building in Puttalam district represents investment in educational infrastructure aimed at improving access to quality learning facilities across the country.
