Quang Ninh, Guangxi deepen digital economy and AI partnerships

Quang Ninh province has signaled its commitment to strengthening ties with China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region across technology and innovation sectors, building on agreements reached by senior leaders of both jurisdictions.

Local officials have called for substantive professional exchanges between Quang Ninh's government departments and their Guangxi counterparts to operationalize cooperation frameworks. Priority areas identified include artificial intelligence development, digital economy initiatives, and science and technology collaboration—sectors both regions view as critical to economic competitiveness.

The push for deepened ties reflects broader efforts by Vietnam's northeastern provinces to leverage cross-border partnerships with China. Similar initiatives are underway in other Vietnamese localities, with Hanoi also expanding cooperation with Guangxi in high-technology sectors, logistics infrastructure, and people-to-people exchange programs.

Official delegations from Guangxi have engaged directly with Quang Ninh counterparts to discuss implementation pathways and identify specific projects. Regional authorities view the collaboration as mutually beneficial, positioning both jurisdictions to capitalize on technological advancement and digital transformation trends reshaping Southeast Asia's economic landscape.
