Quang Ninh hosted an Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Conference with Indonesian counterparts on October 29, marking a fresh effort to deepen bilateral economic ties between the two Southeast Asian neighbors. The event was organized jointly by the Quang Ninh People's Committee, Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian Embassy in Vietnam as part of the Meet Indonesia 2026 program.

The conference brought together government representatives, business leaders and investors from both provinces and nations to explore concrete pathways for commercial cooperation. Discussions focused on identifying opportunities across multiple sectors, including trade expansion, direct investment flows and tourism development between the northern Vietnamese province and Indonesian regions.

The initiative reflects broader efforts by Vietnam and Indonesia to strengthen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. As two major ASEAN economies, the countries have been seeking to elevate economic collaboration beyond traditional ties, with provincial-level engagement playing an increasingly important role in facilitating business-to-business connections.

Indonesia represents a significant market for Vietnamese exporters, with halal-certified products among the growing categories of goods Vietnamese businesses are positioning for Indonesian consumers. The conference provided a platform for Vietnamese companies to showcase their product range while Indonesian firms explored opportunities in Quang Ninh's key sectors.
