Quang Ninh province has demonstrated robust tourism growth, attracting 18.8 million visitors in the January-September period of 2026, according to provincial tourism authorities. International visitors comprised 4.21 million of the total arrivals, reflecting growing appeal among overseas travelers seeking experiences in Vietnam's coastal region.
The strong performance positions Quang Ninh among Vietnam's leading tourist destinations, capitalizing on its natural attractions and strategic location in the Red River Delta. The province's diversified tourism offerings, encompassing coastal attractions, cultural heritage sites, and industrial tourism, have resonated with both domestic and international visitor segments.
Looking ahead to the remainder of 2026, provincial officials have set an ambitious target of exceeding 23 million total visitors for the calendar year. Achievement of this goal would represent a significant increase from current trajectories and underscore the province's expanding competitive advantage in Vietnam's tourism sector.
The tourism momentum comes as Quang Ninh simultaneously pursues economic diversification, with emphasis on attracting foreign direct investment into high-technology manufacturing sectors. This dual-track development strategy aims to enhance the province's regional economic standing while maintaining its appeal as a destination for leisure and business travelers.
