The Fitzroy River in Rockhampton has been formally approved as a competition venue for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games following a comprehensive technical review. Organisers announced that an independent report had verified the site could "provide a safe, fair and consistent field of play" for rowers from around the world.
The assessment addressed concerns about the venue's suitability for hosting elite-level rowing competitions, examining water conditions, infrastructure, and safety protocols.
