Quezon City rescues seven dogs stranded in monsoon flooding

The Quezon City Veterinary Department (QCVD) responded to an emergency call on Saturday, Aug. 29, to rescue seven dogs stranded in floodwaters at 12 Mahogany Street, Sapamanai, in Barangay Fairview. The rescue operation was conducted as heavy rains from the southwest monsoon inundated the area that evening.
Department personnel successfully retrieved all seven animals from the flooded location and brought them to safety. The QCVD's rapid response underscores ongoing efforts by city authorities to protect both residents and animals during severe weather events.
The southwest monsoon has continued to pose flooding risks across Metro Manila and surrounding provinces. Residents in flood-prone areas have been advised to remain vigilant and contact local disaster response teams in case of emergencies involving people or animals in distress.
