Quezon City to close Commonwealth Ave westbound lanes for MRT-7 work

MANILA — Motorists traveling on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City should expect traffic disruptions as the local government enforces temporary westbound lane closures through Thursday, October 29.

The Quezon City government announced the closure to accommodate the unloading and lifting operations required for installing elevator and escalator systems as part of the ongoing MRT-7 construction. The transit line project continues to progress through the city, with various sections undergoing infrastructure development.

Commuters and residents are advised to seek alternate routes during the closure period or allow additional travel time when using Commonwealth Avenue. The local government stated that the temporary measures are necessary to facilitate the continued advancement of the MRT-7 project, which aims to enhance public transportation connectivity in the metropolitan area.

Authorities have not yet announced whether additional lane closures may be required for subsequent phases of the construction work.
