LUCENA CITY — The Quezon provincial government has begun a systematic assessment to create a cancer patient registry covering the entire province. Led by Governor Angelina "Doktora Helen" Tan, the initiative is being implemented through the Provincial Health Office as part of broader efforts to strengthen cancer care delivery in the region.
The registry project requires a detailed survey to document the current cancer patient population and evaluate their medical status. Officials said the data collected will be crucial in identifying healthcare gaps and determining what services and support systems are needed to better serve cancer patients across Quezon.
Governor Tan, a physician by profession, has prioritized the initiative as part of the provincial government's commitment to improving public health outcomes. The registry is expected to provide local health authorities with comprehensive information needed to develop targeted interventions and allocate resources more effectively.
Once completed, the cancer patient registry will serve as a reference tool for healthcare providers and policymakers in crafting programs and services tailored to the needs of affected patients and their families throughout the province.
