Sea travel resumed in the northern portions of Quezon province on Friday afternoon after authorities determined conditions had improved sufficiently for maritime activities to recommence. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) lifted the gale warning that had been in effect across the region, which had been issued in connection with Typhoon Rosal's passage through the area.
The Philippine Coast Guard, which oversees marine safety and navigation in Philippine waters, authorized the resumption of vessel operations based on the updated weather assessment. The decision allowed fishing boats, inter-island ferries, and commercial shipping to return to their regular routes after a period of disruption caused by rough sea conditions associated with the typhoon.
The gale warning had previously forced authorities to implement travel restrictions to protect lives and property at sea. With conditions stabilizing and the typhoon's direct threat to the region diminishing, authorities determined it was safe to lift the precautionary measures that had kept vessels in port.
