MANILA — The Minor Basilica of the Black Nazareno in Quiapo has introduced the official logo for the January 2027 Feast of the Black Nazareno, signaling preparations for the major religious event that draws hundreds of thousands of Filipino devotees annually.
The emblem incorporates several key religious symbols central to the devotion. The design features the figure of Jesus Christ, Saint John the Baptist, the iconic Quiapo Church structure, and the ropes traditionally used during the procession—elements that collectively represent the spiritual essence of the celebration.
The 2027 observance will be guided by the theme "Tuwirin ninyo ang daraanan ng Panginoon," which translates to "Make straight the way of the Lord." The scriptural theme underscores the spiritual message church organizers aim to convey during the upcoming feast year.
The Black Nazareno remains one of the Philippines' most revered religious icons, with the annual January procession and feast day attracting millions of devotees who participate in the traditional 'traslacion' or transfer of the holy image. The unveiling of next year's logo marks the formal beginning of preparations for the 2027 celebration.
