Quy Nhon seeks policy reforms to unlock night economy potential

Quy Nhon's reputation as a beach destination continues to gain international recognition, with the coastal city recently named among the world's top 25 beach destinations for 2026. However, officials acknowledge that maximizing tourism revenue requires developing the city's night economy—a sector that remains underdeveloped compared to competing regional destinations.
Local administrators have identified regulatory and policy barriers as key obstacles preventing the night-time sector from reaching its potential. Current institutional frameworks lack the flexibility needed to attract major hospitality and entertainment operators, limiting the range of experiences available to visitors after sunset.
Experts suggest that removing bureaucratic impediments and creating a more business-friendly environment for large-scale operators could catalyze growth in evening attractions and activities. Such moves would complement Quy Nhon's existing natural assets and heritage sites, offering tourists a more comprehensive destination experience.
The strategic prioritization of night economy development represents a calculated effort to differentiate Quy Nhon from competing coastal cities in central Vietnam. By leveraging both its marine attractions and emerging cultural offerings, city leaders believe the destination can establish itself as a comprehensive tourism hub rather than a seasonal beach resort.
