Rafale fighter successfully lands on INS Vikrant in historic naval milestone

The Rafale fighter aircraft executed a successful arrested landing on the flight deck of INS Vikrant, validating the carrier's operational readiness and the compatibility of the aircraft with the vessel's systems. The landing was conducted as part of the carrier's ongoing sea trials and certification process.

INS Vikrant, India's first domestically-designed and constructed aircraft carrier, represents a major milestone in the country's naval capability development. The successful Rafale landing demonstrates the carrier's ability to operate modern fighter jets and strengthens India's maritime defense posture in the Indian Ocean region.

The Indian Navy has contracted 26 Rafale marine variant aircraft to equip its carriers, with these jets set to replace the ageing MiG-29K fighters currently in service. The Rafale's advanced capabilities, including enhanced range, payload capacity, and sensor systems, will significantly augment the operational effectiveness of India's carrier strike groups.

The successful integration of the Rafale with INS Vikrant follows extensive design and construction phases spanning several years. Additional carrier operations and trials are expected to continue as the Navy progresses toward the vessel's full operational status.
