Rahane Backs Gill as India Star, Impressed by Captaincy Growth

Ajinkya Rahane has expressed confidence in Shubman Gill's trajectory as both a batter and captain, highlighting the youngster's consistent improvement in international cricket. The former India skipper believes Gill's records speak volumes about his development as a player and leader.

Rahane's endorsement comes as Gill continues to establish himself in India's leadership structure and batting lineup. The former captain noted that Gill's growing maturity in decision-making and his assured approach at the crease have been noteworthy in recent performances.

According to Rahane, Gill's progression through successive series demonstrates a player learning and adapting to the demands of international cricket. The emphasis on Gill's records suggests a player whose statistics reflect his development, with consistency evident across multiple assignments.

Rahane's assessment represents a significant validation for Gill, who has been increasingly thrust into leadership responsibilities for India across various formats. The praise underscores the confidence senior players have in the younger generation's capacity to handle both batting and captaincy responsibilities at the highest level.
