Rahul Gandhi raises concerns over deteriorating road infrastructure in Amethi

Rahul Gandhi attended a DISHA (District Implementation and State Headquarter Administration) meeting at the Collectorate in Amethi to examine the status of centrally-funded development initiatives. Accompanied by Amethi Member of Parliament Kishori Lal Sharma, Gandhi reviewed progress on various schemes, with particular focus on the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), a flagship rural road connectivity programme.

During the meeting, the Congress leader flagged the deteriorating condition of roads constructed under PMGSY in his parliamentary constituency, raising questions about maintenance standards and implementation oversight. The PMGSY, which aims to provide all-weather road access to eligible unconnected habitations in rural areas, has been a key infrastructure initiative under successive central governments.

The review meeting served as a platform for Gandhi to assess ground-level implementation of various Centre-sponsored schemes.
