District administration in Raichur has launched a detailed enumeration of individual household toilets as part of a systematic review of sanitation coverage under India's flagship Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM). The Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer issued directives to gram panchayats and block-level officials to conduct the survey with precision and ensure complete documentation of existing toilet infrastructure across all villages.
The assessment is expected to provide an accurate picture of sanitation facility distribution in the district, helping identify areas where households still lack access to toilets. Officials have been instructed to verify the functional status of existing facilities and document compliance with mission standards.
The survey is intended to inform future policy decisions and resource allocation for sanitation programmes at the district level. By establishing baseline data through the comprehensive audit, the administration aims to strengthen last-mile implementation of national health and hygiene initiatives in rural Raichur.
