Rail authorities have restored full service on the Dhaka-Chittagong line, one of Bangladesh's most critical transport corridors, after a complete shutdown lasting approximately 24 hours. The resumption of operations came as commuters and freight operators returned to normalcy on the route connecting the capital to the port city.
The temporary suspension of services had created disruptions for thousands of daily commuters relying on the rail network for business and personal travel. Freight movements between the two cities were also halted during the closure period, affecting supply chain operations across the region.
Railway officials confirmed that services have now been fully restored and trains are operating according to the regular timetable. The line remains a vital transportation artery for the country, facilitating both passenger and cargo movement between Dhaka and Chittagong.
No details regarding the cause of the initial service disruption were immediately disclosed by authorities. Railway officials indicated that normal operations would continue uninterrupted moving forward.
