Perbadanan Aset Keretapi (RAC) has secured an interim injunction from the Seremban High Court as it pursues a defamation lawsuit against activist Chegubard. The restraining order, granted following submissions from both parties, will remain effective until the matter returns to court for substantive hearing on January 20. The court granted the interim measure after Chegubard requested additional time to prepare and file an affidavit in reply to RAC's claims. The temporary injunction is designed to preserve the status quo pending the full hearing of the case. RAC initiated legal action seeking damages for alleged defamatory statements. The case represents an escalation of disputes between the state-owned railway assets corporation and civil society critics. The January 20 hearing will determine whether the interim injunction should be continued, modified, or discharged, and will address the substantive merits of RAC's defamation allegations.
