Railways to enforce ID requirement for all ticket holders during festive season

Indian Railways has announced plans to intensify ticket-checking operations in the coming weeks as passenger traffic surges during the festive season. The move aims to crack down on ticketless travel and ensure compliance with travel regulations across the network.

Under the new enforcement drive, passengers will be required to present original identification documents to validate their railway tickets during inspection. Railway authorities have indicated that tickets without corresponding valid ID authentication may be treated as invalid, exposing passengers to potential penalties.
