The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued the advisory in its early morning weather briefing, citing the combined effects of two weather systems affecting the country.
Weather specialist Chenel Dominguez noted that the intertropical convergence zone, a region of low atmospheric pressure where trade winds converge, would combine with existing northeasterly wind patterns to generate moisture and cloud formation across multiple areas.
The agency advised residents in affected regions to prepare for possible flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Commuters and outdoor workers were urged to monitor weather updates regularly as conditions are expected to persist throughout Wednesday.
Pagesa said it would continue monitoring atmospheric developments and issue updated forecasts as needed. The public is encouraged to check the bureau's website and social media channels for the latest weather information and any storm signals that may be raised.
