Rain and thunderstorms are expected to sweep across eastern portions of the Philippines on Tuesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its latest forecast issued Monday evening, Pagasa attributed the wet weather to the strengthening of the easterlies combined with a northeasterly windflow pattern affecting the country's eastern seaboard.

The Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora and Quezon Province are among the areas most likely to experience precipitation and electrical storms during the period. Residents in these regions have been advised to remain alert to potential flooding and landslide risks associated with heavy rainfall.

The state weather service continues to monitor atmospheric conditions across the archipelago and is expected to provide updated forecasts as weather patterns develop.
