Rajampet constituency fractured by district reorganisation, officials struggle
The 2022 decision to redraw district boundaries along parliamentary constituency lines has created administrative gridlock in Rajampet, leaving the Lok Sabha seat fragmented across multiple jurisdictions with no clear administrative ownership.

Rajampet Lok Sabha constituency has descended into administrative chaos following the 2022 district reorganisation, with officials now grappling with a highly fragmented governance structure that has undermined basic administrative coordination across the region.
The parliamentary constituency is currently split across four districts, each maintaining its own Collector and Superintendent of Police. This fragmentation has resulted in four distinct administrative hierarchies operating within a single electoral constituency, creating overlapping jurisdictions and muddled lines of authority. Officials acknowledge that the decision to align district boundaries with Lok Sabha constituency demarcations has proven counterproductive in Rajampet's case.
The splintered administrative setup has compounded existing governance challenges. Rajampet now presents an unusual scenario where the constituency is simultaneously claimed by multiple districts yet owned by none. This administrative limbo has hindered coordinated policy implementation, resource allocation, and constituent service delivery across the region.
Governance experts and officials have flagged the constitutional and operational complications arising from the realignment. The case of Rajampet underscores unintended consequences of reorganisation initiatives, particularly when district boundaries are redrawn to align with electoral divisions rather than geographic, demographic, or administrative coherence.
The situation remains unresolved, with no clear policy direction on whether further reorganisation will be undertaken to consolidate the fragmented constituency under unified district administration.
