The Colombo Magistrate's Court on Wednesday ordered that MP Namal Rajapaksa be further remanded until October 23 in connection with the Krrish deal investigation. Former Krrish Group director Janaki Siriwardena was also remanded further in the same case.
Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama heard submissions from both the defence and prosecution before issuing the remand order. The decision to extend their remand indicates that investigators require additional time to pursue inquiries into the transaction.
The Krrish deal has become the subject of significant legal scrutiny, with authorities examining various aspects of the transaction. Both Rajapaksa and Siriwardena remain in custody as the investigation progresses.
The next court hearing is scheduled for October 23, when the status of the inquiry will be reviewed and further decisions on remand will be determined.
