The Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court ordered the further remand of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser and Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa and former Krrish Group Executive Director Janaki Siriwardena on Tuesday, following submissions by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The court's decision came after consideration of evidence and arguments presented by the anti-corruption body, which is investigating allegations connected to the Krrish case. The remand extension allows investigators further time to pursue their inquiries into the matter.
The Krrish case has drawn significant public attention, involving allegations of financial irregularities and potential misconduct. Both Rajapaksa and Siriwardena have been central figures in the investigation since its inception.
The remand order marks the latest development in an ongoing legal process that has kept the case in the public eye. Further court proceedings are expected as the investigation progresses.
