Rajasthan Bar Association Urges Proper Forum for Acting CJ Concerns

The Rajasthan High Court Bar Association has responded to a letter critical of the Acting Chief Justice, asserting that such matters should be resolved through established institutional frameworks rather than public discourse.

Rajeev Sogarwal, president of the Bar Association's Jaipur chapter, stated that the legal fraternity holds no opposition to any individual appointed to judicial office. He emphasized that judicial appointments remain the prerogative of the relevant appointing authorities, and the bar association respects that constitutional function.

The bar association reiterated its position that there is a pressing need to fill the Chief Justice position on a permanent basis to ensure stable leadership of the high court. However, the association maintained that specific grievances regarding judicial administration should be channeled through appropriate institutional mechanisms rather than addressed via correspondence.

The statement reflects broader concerns within the legal community about ensuring continuity and stability in high court administration while maintaining the independence of the judiciary from external pressures.
