Rajasthan conducts repoll in four cities after EVM malfunctions

Repolling commenced across four major urban centres in Rajasthan on Tuesday following complaints of electronic voting machine failures, the state election commission confirmed. The fresh voting was necessitated after technical malfunctions were reported at several polling stations in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Suket during the vote-counting process. Election officials determined that the EVM glitches had compromised the integrity of results from those particular stations, warranting a complete revote. The repoll was conducted under enhanced security protocols with additional poll observers and election staff deployed to oversee the process. Officials stated that all necessary measures were implemented to ensure the smooth conduct of voting and prevent further technical complications. Results from the repolled stations will be tallied separately and consolidated with counts from other polling centres to determine final outcomes for the urban local body elections.
