Rajasthan cops arrest government doctor in major drug bust

Authorities in Rajasthan have arrested three individuals, including a government-employed physician, in connection with an illegal drug manufacturing operation that came to light following a significant narcotics seizure. The Rajasthan Anti-Narcotics Task Force conducted the raid in Balotra, where officers recovered 3.764 kilograms of mephedrone, commonly known as MD or meow meow, a synthetic cathinone derivative classified as a narcotic substance.

The arrest of the government doctor represents a notable development in the case, marking another instance of a medical professional's alleged involvement in drug-related criminal activity. The two co-accused remain unidentified at this stage of the investigation. Preliminary findings suggest the operation was engaged in the processing and manufacturing of the controlled substance for distribution across the region.

The Anti-Narcotics Task Force has intensified efforts to curb illicit drug manufacturing in Rajasthan, where synthetic drugs have emerged as a growing concern among law enforcement agencies. The seized quantity and the nature of the operation suggest a significant supply chain that authorities are now investigating further. The three arrested individuals are expected to face charges under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
