Rajasthan IAS Officer Under Investigation for Alleged Property Wealth Accumulation
Anti-Corruption Bureau officials are scrutinizing the acquisition of 40 villas and cottages by a Rajasthan IAS officer and his family, with allegations of generating over Rs 1.8 crore annually through property transactions.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Rajasthan has initiated a formal investigation into IAS officer Shikhar Agarwal and his family members over the large-scale acquisition of residential properties in what authorities describe as potentially questionable circumstances.
According to ACB officials, Agarwal's family purchased properties valued at Rs 6.16 crore within a 30-month period at two Ananta resort properties. The properties were subsequently leased back to the same company, generating approximately Rs 1.8 crore in annual rental income, investigators allege.
The investigation centers on whether the asset accumulation is consistent with the officer's legitimate income sources and declared financial disclosures. The scale of property acquisitions—totaling 40 villas and cottages—has prompted authorities to examine the financial transactions in detail.
The case raises questions about asset verification procedures for civil service officers in India's states. ACB officials have not disclosed the timeline for completing their inquiry or whether preliminary findings suggest any violations of conduct rules applicable to IAS and IPS personnel.
