KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 — Rapid KL activated contingency measures after a train experienced a brake system failure at Jalan Ipoh Station, affecting commuters on the Putrajaya Line.
The malfunction prompted the rapid transit operator to deploy replacement trains to maintain service continuity along the affected corridor. Passengers were advised to expect longer waiting times and possible delays during the disruption.
Rapid KL did not immediately disclose the duration of the service disruption or the root cause of the brake failure. The incident occurred during the Monday afternoon period, when the line typically experiences significant passenger traffic.
