Rare albino python discovered during religious procession in Madhya Pradesh

Wildlife officials in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district successfully rescued an uncommon albino python measuring approximately 8 feet in length on Monday. The reptile was discovered during the Sanatan Hindu Ekta Rathyatra (Hindu Unity Chariot Procession) being conducted in the region.

Albino pythons are extremely rare in the wild, characterized by their distinctive white coloration due to a genetic condition that prevents normal pigmentation. The species is seldom encountered outside controlled breeding environments, making the Chhatarpur sighting a notable occurrence for local naturalists and wildlife enthusiasts.

Rescue teams responded promptly to reports of the snake's presence, ensuring its safe capture and preventing any potential conflict between the reptile and procession participants. The operation was conducted with care to protect both the animal and public safety.

Wildlife experts noted that such discoveries underscore the importance of alertness to unusual animal sightings and the need for trained response teams. The rescued python is expected to be relocated to an appropriate facility for rehabilitation and care.
