Rare Chinese artefacts debut in Singapore's classical novels exhibition
Forty-one Chinese cultural treasures will go on public display in Singapore from December 7, featuring rare manuscripts and prints from some of Asia's most celebrated literary works. Singapore will host a significant collection of Chinese artefacts this December, marking the first time many pieces will be displayed in the city-state. The exhibition, opening on December 7, brings together 41 items centred around four classical Chinese novels, providing visitors with insight into centuries of literary and artistic tradition.
Among the materials on display are early printed editions, intricate woodblock prints and historical opera scripts originating from the 17th to 19th centuries. These artefacts represent key periods in Chinese cultural development and offer rare glimpses into how classical literature was produced, distributed and adapted across different artistic mediums during the imperial era.
The collection underscores Singapore's role as a regional hub for cultural exchange and heritage preservation.
