Ceuta, situated opposite Gibraltar across the Strait of Gibraltar, has faced periodic geopolitical tensions. The visit by one of Spain's most prominent football figures underscores the symbolic importance of high-profile public shows of solidarity with Spanish territories.
Perez's appearance marked a notable gesture of support for the city, which is home to approximately 85,000 residents and serves as a strategic outpost for Spain in the Mediterranean region.
