Organisers of the Arjan Perera Tennis Tournament have announced that this year's edition has received the highest number of entries in the event's history, marking a significant milestone for the prestigious competition.
The tournament, which honours the memory of noted tennis figure Arjan Perera, has long served as a key fixture in Sri Lanka's tennis calendar, providing a platform for both emerging and established players to compete at a high level.
The record participation demonstrates increasing engagement with competitive tennis among players from across the country. Organisers attributed the surge in entries to improved promotion of the tournament and growing enthusiasm for racquet sports in Sri Lanka.
The competition is expected to feature an expanded format this year to accommodate the larger field of participants. Tournament officials expressed confidence that the heightened level of competition would benefit the development of tennis talent across the nation.
Details regarding the tournament schedule, draw, and venue arrangements are expected to be released in coming weeks.
