Red Cross deploys 1,800+ personnel for Undas operations nationwide

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) will field 1,848 personnel for its Undas Operation 2026, comprising 248 staff members and 1,600 volunteers tasked with providing emergency medical services and humanitarian assistance throughout the observance period. The deployment represents a significant commitment to public safety during the annual tradition when Filipinos visit cemeteries to pay respects to deceased loved ones.

The organization will establish a comprehensive support infrastructure to handle anticipated crowds and emergencies. This includes 314 first aid stations, 149 welfare desks, 103 mobile units, and 104 foot patrol teams strategically positioned at cemeteries and transportation hubs. The medical response capability will be bolstered by 65 ambulances and 19 emergency vehicles ready to address health crises.

The PRC's Undas Operation has become a critical component of the nation's public health response during the holiday season. By pre-positioning resources at high-traffic areas, the organization aims to minimize response times and provide immediate assistance to those requiring medical attention or humanitarian support. The scale of this year's deployment underscores the PRC's preparation for managing health and safety challenges anticipated during the holiday period.
