Police in the Galle District responded to reports of gunfire in Ahungalla on Thursday, discovering the victim at the scene with fatal gunshot wounds. The deceased has been identified as a close relative of an individual known to law enforcement circles as 'Loku Patty,' described as a significant figure in organized criminal activities in the region.

Investigators have begun preliminary inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Officers have cordoned off the area and are collecting evidence as part of the ongoing investigation. The motive for the killing remains unclear at this stage.
