Reliance Consumer Products launches Bombay Creamery ice-cream brand

Reliance Consumer Products, part of the Reliance Industries conglomerate, has unveiled Bombay Creamery, marking its entry into India's competitive ice-cream sector. The new brand will offer consumers a variety of frozen dessert options across multiple formats and price points.

Bombay Creamery's initial portfolio includes cones, cups, tubs, bars and stick formats, with pricing beginning at Rs 10. This entry-level pricing strategy positions the brand to appeal to a broad consumer base across income segments.

The company will commence operations in western India, leveraging the region's established consumer base and distribution infrastructure. This phased approach allows Reliance to establish market presence and refine operations before undertaking a nationwide expansion.

The ice-cream market in India remains highly fragmented, with numerous national and regional players competing for market share. Reliance's entry into the segment adds another significant player to an industry traditionally dominated by established brands and regional manufacturers.
