Relic of 'Millennial Saint' Carlo Acutis touring Visayas churches

MANILA — A relic of St. Carlo Acutis, the recently canonized Italian teenager dubbed the 'Millennial Saint,' will be available for public veneration at selected churches throughout the Visayas region from November 26 to December 6.

The sacred relic, consisting of a portion of Acutis' pericardium, will be displayed as part of a wider devotional tour bringing the saint's remains to Filipino Catholics. Acutis, canonized in 2025, has become widely recognized among younger generations for his integration of modern technology with traditional Catholic faith during his lifetime.

The tour aims to provide Visayan Catholics with an opportunity to venerate the saint and deepen their spiritual connection to his legacy. Church officials have coordinated the multi-week display across several parishes to accommodate pilgrims from different areas.

Acutis, who died in 2006 at age 15, was known for his computer programming skills and his efforts to catalog Eucharistic miracles before his death from leukemia. His canonization marked the Catholic Church's recognition of his sanctity and spiritual significance in the modern era.
