Retired military officer with Datuk title charged over alleged caddie assault
A 68-year-old retired military officer who holds the title of Datuk has been charged in connection with allegations of molesting a golf caddie at a course in Ayer Keroh. The case marks another instance of alleged misconduct involving a public figure in Malaysia.

The retired officer, whose name has been withheld pending court proceedings, appeared before a magistrate in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday to face charges related to the alleged incident. The victim, a caddie employed at the Ayer Keroh golf facility, lodged a report with authorities following the alleged assault.
According to court documents, the incident is alleged to have occurred at the golf club premises. The caddie subsequently filed a formal complaint with police, triggering an investigation that led to the officer's apprehension and subsequent charging.
The officer, who spent a significant portion of his career serving in Malaysia's armed forces before retirement, was released on bail pending trial. The case has been scheduled for mention in court at a later date to allow both the prosecution and defence to prepare their submissions.
The Datuk title, conferred by state rulers, is one of Malaysia's highest honours in the national honours system. Such cases involving title holders have drawn increased public scrutiny in recent years, particularly when allegations involve abuse of position or misconduct toward service workers.
