The court ruled in favour of the retired Risda official following proceedings in the state capital on Friday. The defendant had faced multiple counts related to the alleged unauthorized handling of association monies totalling RM15,350.
The acquittal marks the conclusion of legal proceedings against the former employee, who maintained innocence throughout the case. The Sessions Court found insufficient grounds to proceed with conviction on the charges brought against him.
The case centred on allegations of financial impropriety within association funds administered by the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority. Such cases involving public sector employees are closely monitored given the importance of financial accountability in government-linked organizations serving Malaysia's smallholder rubber farming community.
With the acquittal, the defendant is cleared of all charges and the matter is now concluded.
