Retrieval underway for SUV that plunged off Tarlac bridge

Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap announced Wednesday that retrieval operations have commenced for the vehicle that crashed off Agana Bridge, which sustained partial structural damage in the incident. The discovery of a tire approximately two kilometers downstream from the bridge alerted authorities to the vehicle's location when river water levels receded slightly.
At least two occupants of the SUV have been confirmed dead, with one person rescued from the scene. Two additional passengers remain unaccounted for, according to city officials overseeing the recovery operation.
The Agana Bridge partially collapsed as a result of the vehicle's plunge, raising concerns about the structural integrity of the crossing. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the circumstances that led to the SUV leaving the roadway.
Recovery teams are working to retrieve the submerged vehicle and locate the two missing occupants. The incident underscores ongoing safety challenges on Tarlac's transportation infrastructure.
