MANILA – Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Terry Ridon has urged the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) to investigate a series of social media posts containing statements falsely attributed to defense lawyer Michael Poa.

Ridon said the posts, which circulated online, misrepresented Poa's position in an apparent effort to create the impression that the lawyer was launching attacks against the lawmaker. The congressman characterized the posts as misinformation designed to manipulate public perception.

As a member of the House prosecution panel examining Vice President Sara Z. Duterte's political situation, Ridon's involvement in sensitive political matters has drawn scrutiny on social media platforms. The lawmaker's request to the CICC comes amid growing concerns about the spread of fake content targeting public officials and their associates.

The CICC, the government's lead agency for investigating cybercrime and coordinating digital security responses, has not yet publicly commented on the investigation request.
