MANILA — Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon affirmed his continued participation as one of the lead prosecutors in the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte, despite receiving a show-cause order from the impeachment court.
The order was issued following concerns over a possible breach of sub judice rules, which restrict public commentary on ongoing judicial matters. However, the issuance of the directive did not result in Ridon's removal from the prosecution team handling Duterte's case, which centers on allegations of unexplained wealth.
The impeachment trial represents one of the most significant political developments in recent months, with the prosecution tasked with presenting evidence supporting the charges against the Vice President.
