Rights group urges FIFA to block Infantino's re-election bid
Human rights organisation FairSquare has called on FIFA to declare Gianni Infantino ineligible for another term as president, contending the football chief has already served the maximum three consecutive terms permitted by the sport's governing body.

The advocacy group has formally petitioned FIFA to enforce its own constitutional limits on presidential tenure, arguing that Infantino's eligibility for a fourth term contradicts the organisation's stated governance rules.
Under FIFA's constitution, the president is restricted to serving three consecutive four-year terms. FairSquare contends that Infantino, who has led FIFA since 2016, has exhausted this maximum allowance and should therefore be barred from standing in the next election.
