Rio Health, a quick commerce platform specializing in healthcare and wellness products, has closed a pre-Series A funding round of $4.5 million, with Version One Ventures leading the investment. The capital infusion underscores growing investor confidence in the rapid-delivery segment for essential health and pharmaceutical goods.
The platform plans to leverage the fresh funds to substantially scale its operations in the Delhi-NCR market. Rio Health intends to expand its network of dark stores—fulfillment centers designed exclusively for quick deliveries—from its current three locations to over 15 facilities across the region within a specified timeframe.
The expansion aligns with Rio Health's ambitions to achieve an annual run rate exceeding Rs 150 crore, signaling aggressive growth targets as it competes in the increasingly crowded quick commerce space. The move reflects the company's strategy to establish deeper penetration in metropolitan markets where demand for on-demand healthcare delivery continues to surge.
The investment comes amid heightened activity in India's quick commerce sector, where multiple platforms are racing to capture market share by expanding warehouse networks and delivery capabilities. Rio Health's focus on healthcare-specific products positions it within a specialized niche of the broader quick commerce market.
