Rising onion and sugar prices just rumours, says BJP MP Tiwari

BJP member of parliament Manoj Tiwari on Monday characterized reports of rising sugar and onion prices as unfounded rumours, even as the government moves forward with major infrastructure initiatives in Bihar.

Tiwari announced that the central government plans to invest ₹25,000 crore in tourism development across the state. The investment will facilitate improved connectivity between major religious sites, with planned corridor construction linking the Vishnu Pad Temple in Gaya and the Mahabodhi Temple.

Addressing concerns about reservation policies, Tiwari clarified that the BJP does not support the abolition of existing reservation frameworks. The statement comes amid ongoing political discourse surrounding affirmative action policies in India.

The remarks reflect efforts by the BJP to maintain focus on developmental initiatives while managing public discourse around inflation and pricing concerns that have emerged as significant political issues across Indian states.
