The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has responded sharply to comments by Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, with party state chief Dilnawaz Khan suggesting that Yadav is acting nervously due to preoccupation with political rivals.

The RLD struck back at the Samajwadi Party on Saturday during a minority conference held in Palri village in Bagpat district, responding to remarks by Yadav that appeared to mock the party's leadership. RLD state president Dilnawaz Khan used the platform to counter what he characterized as "confused statements" from the Samajwadi Party chief, according to participants at the event.
Khan made a pointed reference to Yadav's comments, suggesting that the SP leader's recent pronouncements betrayed anxiety about political opponents. "Yadav is troubled by thoughts of Chaudhary sahib," Khan said, implying that preoccupation with RLD's leadership was driving the Samajwadi Party chief's recent public statements.
The exchange reflects ongoing tensions between the two parties as they navigate their complex political relationship in Uttar Pradesh. The RLD, which has historically represented agrarian and regional interests in western UP, has sought to maintain its distinct political identity even as it coordinates with larger political formations in the state.
