Amalan Setar's managing director R Rajendran announced the substantial donation to MySkills Foundation, underscoring the corporate sector's role in addressing youth unemployment and social disadvantage. The RM7.2 million contribution will be directed toward skills training and development programmes designed to equip at-risk youths with marketable competencies.
The initiative targets vulnerable populations who face barriers to conventional employment pathways. Through targeted vocational training and mentorship, the programme seeks to transform educational and economic prospects for beneficiaries, enabling them to secure stable livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to the economy.
Rajendran expressed optimism that the foundation's work would create tangible opportunities for disadvantaged youths to transition into formal employment or entrepreneurship. The donation aligns with broader corporate social responsibility objectives and reflects growing recognition of youth development as a critical social and economic priority across the region.
MySkills Foundation operates training centres across Malaysia, offering accredited courses in hospitality, information technology, manufacturing, and other high-demand sectors. The additional funding is expected to expand programme capacity and reach, allowing the foundation to support a larger cohort of at-risk youths seeking to rebuild their futures.
